Lois A. Towne, 81, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born April 3, 1936 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Roy and Alice Fisher Wright. On June 18, 1955 she married Marlin L. Towne at Division Street Methodist Church. Lois was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira where she served as Treasurer for over 25 years. She and her husband owned and operated Pagel Flowers for 26 years, retiring in 2002. Lois was Town of Byron Treasurer for 40 years, Fond du Lac County Towns Association Secretary for 20 years, and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking and baking, and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Marlin; three children, Pamela (William) Vaughan of Fond du Lac, Lisa (Todd) Lehner of Lomira, and Douglas Towne of Lomira; eight grandchildren, Keeley (Joe) Cole, Nicole (Derek) Dittberner, Zachary (Emily) James, Joshua Towne, Benjamin Lehner, Dakota Vaughan, Colton Vaughan, and Emma Towne; five great grandchildren, Ryder, Jaxton, Oliver, Keanna, and Elias; her niece, DeLayne (Michael) Krentz and their sons, Nolan and Geoffrey; special friend, Linda (David) Schell and their daughters, Jennifer, Melissa, and Tiffany; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Wright; father and mother-in-law, Lyle and Ethel Towne; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Gaylord) Schroeder.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at church.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church Street in Lomira, with Rev. Dr. Rom Pegram officiating. Entombment will follow in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
