Loretta A. Kuechler, 77, resident of the St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, for the past year, formerly of Southlake Circle, Fond du Lac, died on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on May 6,1931, at the homestead in Kewaskum, the daughter of Anna and Arthur Schmidt. Loretta and her late-husband Jim, were married on May 25, 1949, at Holy Trinity Church in Kewaskum. While raising eight children, they resided in the village of Lomira for over 50 years. She was a custodian at the Lomira Public Schools for 25 years, and retired in 1993. She loved her family and enjoyed many gatherings and outings with them. Loretta enjoyed shopping, music, baking, painting, but her grandchildren were her real passion.She is survived by her loving children, Jennifer (Donald J.) Uelmen of Eden, Dennis (Lois), of Lomira, Michael (Mary) of Fond du Lac, Maureen (James) Becker of Fond du Lac, Geriann (Thomas) Fox of Fond du Lac, Mary (Larry) Reske of Grafton and Colleen (Todd) Priest of Lomira; her loving grandchildren, Brad (Michelle) Uelmen of Oak Creek, Ben (Mandy) Uelmen of Campbellsport, Kelly (fiancé Matt) Uelmen of Waukee,Iowa, Eric (Erin) Kuechler of Kewaskum, Amy Kuechler of Schaumberg, Ill, Andrew Kuechler of Bozeman, MT, Christopher (Terri) Kuechler of Kentwood, MI, Kimberly and Nicholas Kuechler of Fond du Lac, Nicole Fox of Fond du Lac, Margaret and Nathan Reske of Grafton, and Daniel, Abby, and Mitchell Priest of Lomira; six great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Ralph (Eleanor) Kuechler of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death in 2007, by her loving husband, James, of 58 years, her daughter, Beverly in 1972, her parents, her brother Marvin (Lois) Schmidt; and her little angel granddaughters Mary Lee Reske in 1997, and Michelle Rose Fox in 1995.
Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 to 7p.m. on Oct 31, 2008, at Uecker-Witt Funeral, 524 N. Park Av., Fond du Lac, WI. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday, November 1, at the church. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov 1. 2008, at St Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira, with the Rev. Dennis Budka officiating. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
