Lorraine M. Albertz, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born April 3, 1926 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Fredrick and Ottilia Renn Kuphal. On June 14, 1957 she married Arnold I. Albertz in Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2007. Lorraine was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac and most recently a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. She was a resident of Horicon, Wisconsin until 1980 when she moved to Fond du Lac. In her early years she enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, fishing, and bowling. Lorraine spent winters with her husband in Arizona for over 20 years and was very proud of her hole in one while golfing there. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, knitting and crotcheting hats for the soldiers in Iraq. SURVIVORS: five children, Karen (Roger) Deglow, Nekoosa, John (Susan) Kohls, Horicon, both from a previous marriage, Marshelle "Shelly" (special friend, Dennis) Ford, Waukesha, Arnold D. (Carol) Albertz, Fond du Lac, Pamela (John) Kollmann, Oakfield; 15 grandchildren, Kristi (John) Tiedt, Stacey (Pat) Ehlenfeldt, Ransom Deglow, Lauren Ford, Courtney Ford, Peter Albertz, Matthew Albertz, Anthony (Janelle) Albertz, James Albertz, Maggie (Peter) Sventek, Shannon Patterson, John (Therese) Krause, Laura (Rick) Ruotsala, Jonell Kollmann, Greg Kollmann; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Melvin (Sandy) Kuphal, Fairwater; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; one grandson, Roger Deglow, Jr.; one great grandson, Lucas Albertz; one brother, Don Kuphal.
VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 10 "“ 11 AM at the church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Rev. Jon Cox officiating. Entombment will be held at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.Memorials are appreciated to Hospice Home of Hope or St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
