Louis G. Casper, Jr., 94, of 596 Elizabeth Street, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born December 7, 1911, in Fond du Lac, the son of Louis G. and Caroline Eder Casper, Sr. On September 3, 1938, he married Mary E. Hoddinott at St. Mary's Church. Mr. Casper was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church, Knights of Columbus Council #664, Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, the AMVETS, United Commercial Travelers, and AARP. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Force in the South East Pacific with GHQ. Mr. Casper was formerly employed by the Ely Company and later by Fred Rueping Leather Company, retiring in 1976.Surviving is his wife, Mary, two sons, David Lee (Leeann) Casper of Westfield, WI, and Robert J. (Suthiva) Casper of Fond du Lac, five grandchildren, Angie (Dale) Buxton of Brunswick, ME, Christina (Billy Souza) de Bettencourt of Edgecomb, MA, Adam Casper of Madison, WI, Dr. Debbie Casper of Phoenix, AZ, and Mark Casper of Fond du Lac, He is further survived by a brother, Dr. Leonard (Linda) Casper of Framingham, MA, and two sisters, Rita Wilman of Milwaukee and Roma Dzbinski of Waterford, WI. His parents, an infant brother, two brothers, Leo and Lawrence, and two sisters, Ruth Shank and Rose Silva, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Louis Casper will be on Friday April 7, 2006 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at St. Mary's Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday at 12:00 pm at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Victor Capriolo of Holy Family Parish will officiate and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Mr. Casper's name. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 Firing Squad.
