Lucille E. "Chick" (Huck) Struck, 94, formerly of 33 S. Seymour Street, died on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at the St. Francis Home after a 3 ½ year stay. She was born May 2, 1913, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of George and Katherine Ferguson Huck. On April 25, 1940, she married Darrell R. Struck at St. Joseph's Rectory. He preceded her in death on October 13, 1999. Mrs. Struck was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School and L.P. Goodrich High School. "Chick" worked for 40 years with her brother, Ed Huck and Ruth "Tootie" Albertz at Ed Huck's grocery store at 4th & Everett Streets before retiring to spend quality time with her family. She loved to cook and play cards with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as the sweet little neighbor lady who always gave Valentine cards, Birthday gifts, and Easter baskets to the neighbor children (plus us old kids too)-she always thought of others before herself. "Chick" is survived by one son, Gary Struck (Special friend Linda Poppe), of Fond du Lac, two daughters, Susie (Dennis) Schumacher of Eldorado, and Linda (Jack) Twohig of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Kevin (Mary) Struck, Kent Struck, Pam (Bob) Hoch, Cherie (Rick) Tetzlaff, and Kim Roen; great-grandchildren Kayla Schumacher, Caryne Roen, Nicole Struck, Kyle Struck, Blake Tetzlaff, Morgan Tetzlaff, Kenya Roen, Mylika Roen, Joel Hoch, and Amy Hoch. A sister-in-law, Irma Huck of Fond Du Lac, and many special nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends further survive her. "Chick" was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Darrell, seven brothers and five sisters-in-law, Larry (Vera) Huck, Harry Huck, Orville Huck, George (Betty) Huck, Lester (Isabelle) Huck, Ed (Gen) Huck, and Leo (Doris) Huck, and a son-in-law, Lloyd "Butch" Roen.
Visitation for Lucille E. "Chick" Struck will be on Friday, February 8, 2008, from 9 to 11:30 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Family prayers will be at 11:30 am at the funeral home and Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at Sacred Heart Church, 232 S. Peters Avenue on Friday. Burial will be in Estabrooks Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Francis Nursing Home. St. Francis Nursing Home Employee's Fund, Hospice Hope, or Touchstone Assistance Living Center of North Fond du Lac.
