Lucille Julia Kromm, 89, of Verrado, Ariz, formerly of Fond du Lac, Wis., died peacefully on Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, 2007, at Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, Ariz.She was born April 23, 1918, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of William and Agnes Grudzinski.She married the love of her life, Frederick Kromm, Sr., at St. Mary's Church in Fond du Lac on March 16, 1936, and they had 58 wonderful years together. They had three beautiful children, Frederick, Jr., Donald and Betty Jane. Survivors include her nine grandchildren, Rhonda and her husband, Rick Raube of Fond du Lac, Wis., Roxanna and her husband, Richard Duran of Roswell, N.M., Renee and her husband, Lynn Ashton of Buckeye (Verrado), Ariz., Beth Lehman, Fred Kromm of Phoenix, Ariz., Dominic and Craig Kromm of Mesa, Ariz., Charlotte and her husband, Don Daun of St. Cloud, Wis., and Bonnie Sue Sippel and her two sons of Wisconsin; six great-grandchildren, Natasha and her husband, Tavo Teran of New Mexico, Lara, Wesley and Samantha Ashton of Arizona and Zachary and Alexandra Lehman of Arizona; one great-great-grandchild, Anereya Teran of New Mexico; three brothers-in-law, Clarence Kromm of Fond du Lac, Wis., Herman and wife, Lois of Hartford, Wis., and George Kromm of Wisconsin; a daughter-in-law, Kathie Kromm of Mesa, Ariz.; three nieces, Minnie and her husband, Drew of Wisconsin, Carmela and her husband, Bob Mauthe of Wisconsin, and Anna Lee and her husband, Joey Bauer of Wisconsin; one nephew, Danny of Wisconsin; two cousins, Jane and her husband, Richard Hohenwalter and Doris Ekle; and a host of relatives and friends.Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; three children; four sisters; five brothers; and one grandson.Lucille "Lu," "Lucy", "GG Lu," was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, godmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and a friend to all. She kept you on your toes, laughing and smiling all the way through her life. She was very strong and independent. She was always generous and loving to all. She loved to cook, bake, gamble at the casinos, go shopping, dine out, tell a joke or two and be ready for a party anytime. Visitation: Visitation was held from 1 to 3 p.m. with a Rosary at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel, Goodyear, Ariz. Services: A funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Avondale, Ariz.



Visitation: Visitation will also be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave., Fond du Lac, Wis. 54935. Services: A funeral Mass will also be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at St. Mary's Church, Marquette St. and E. Merrill Ave., Fond du Lac, Wis. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and children at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers included Ken Rusch, Donald Daun, Dustin Sipple, Duane Sampson, Clarence Kromm and Rick Raube.In lieu of flowers, please contribute in Lucille Kromm's name to Foundation for Blind Children, 1235 E. Harmont Dr., Phoenix, Ariz. 85020 and/or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85014.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is handling arrangements in Fond du Lac.
