Lucille “Lucy” M. Haberkorn, 97, a former resident of Lakeview Estates, Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Woodlands Senior Park. She was born March 24, 1917 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Otto C. and Bertha E. Scherer Krug. On June 1, 1941 she married George Haberkorn in Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1984. She was a member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church and quilted with the Dorcas Circle. Lucy was a past member of the Lamartine Firemen’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, sewing, puzzles, crafts, and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Bette (Ken) Vollert, Wisconsin Rapids, Merry Damrow, St. Peter, Jeanette Fumelle, Sun Prairie, and Sharon (Dan Duchrow) Haberkorn, Randolph; one daughter-in-law, LaVon (John) Schroeder, Cookeville, TN; one granddaughter, Jessica (Chad) Nickerson, Winneconne; four great grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin, Carver, and Regan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Michael; two sons-in-law; two brothers; two sisters.
The visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:30 pm on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Engen officiating. Private burial will take place in Lamartine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lucy’s name are appreciated to the family for the benefit of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund and Lamartine Volunteer Fire Department.
