Lucille R. Charlton

Lucille R. Charlton, age 100, a longtime resident of West Bend, died Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born on October 4, 1917 in Laona, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Beck) Kerschner. On July 9, 1938 she married James R. Charlton. After twenty-five years of marriage he was killed in a car accident on February 1, 1964. Lucille then spent most of her life raising her children and two grandchildren. Lucille then went on to work as a baker at Samaritan House and Hospital in West Bend. When she retired in 1981 she moved to Coloma and lived there until spending the last six months of her life in Eden. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and games, reading, crafts, traveling, and socializing and being involved with the Senior Center.



Survivors include six children, James (Helen) Charlton Jr. of West Bend, David (Candy) Charlton of Corrallis, OR, John (Gloria) Charlton of Wallace, SC, Kenneth (late wife Sue) Charlton of Eden, Ruth (Ed) Buchholz of Bonduel, Linda Wiedmann of Columbus, WI; fifteen grandchildren, Gale (David) Lamb, Julie (Ken) Schneider, Caroline Charlton, Sandra (Kevin) Charlton-Riess, Sheryl (Kevin) Krupp, Patti (Steven) Robrahn, Nancy (Sumanth) Viswanathan, John (Tisha) Charlton, Denise Charlton, Andy (Lianne) Charlton, Brenda (Sean) McCarthy, Skot Wiedmann, Aaron (Yudisley) Wiedmann, and Robin (Oswaldo) Wiedmann; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Orpha Beinborn of Boscobel, WI; one sister-in-law, Monica Kerschner of Coloma, WI; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, James; one son, Steve, daughter-in-law, Sue Charlton; two sisters, Ethel and Marion; and two brothers, Myron and Rodrick.



Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, WI.
