Lyle A. Thorsby

Lyle A. Thorsby, age 80, of 338 N. Macy St, Fond du Lac, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on December 12, 1930 in Sheboygan, the son of Art and Florence (Crouch) Thorsby. Lyle graduated from Little Wolf High School in Manawa, WI in 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1951-53, stationed in Alaska and serving in Korea. On October 30, 1967 he married Jean Liedke in Caledonia, MN. They would have celebrated forty-four years in two weeks. Lyle worked for Service Motors for fifteen years, and then worked at Brenner Tank from 1966 until retiring in 1993. He then worked part-time for Anderson Cleaners in North Fond du Lac.Lyle loved polka music and loved to fish with his son Leroy. He loved football especially the Green Bay Packers.SURVIVORS: his wife, Jean of Fond du Lac, three sons, Leroy A. Thorsby of Fond du Lac, David Thorsby of Fond du Lac, Eddie (Sue) Thorsby of Fond du Lac, one daughter, Carol Carlson of Fond du Lac, son in law, Jim Mecklenburg of Fond du Lac, seven grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Delores (Earl) Smith of Sheboygan, Diane (Robert) Belekevich of Sheboygan, Shirley (Jerry) Wilson of Sheboygan, Darlene Lange (friend Brad) of Pine River, WI, Audrey (Glenn) Schmoltze of St. Germain, Joyce (Lawrence) Mielke of St. Germain, Barbara (Francis) King of Fond du Lac, Judy (Matthew) Eichinger of San Antonio, TX, good friend, Linda Schinke of Fond du Lac, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Mary Mecklenburg, two brothers, Leroy A. Thorsby and Gerald L. Thorsby, one sister, Edith Johnson.



VISITATION: Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 1-3 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
