Lyle E. Weed

Lyle E. Weed, age 88, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1934, in Fond du Lac, the son of Morgan and Eleanor (Hills) Weed. Lyle served in the United States Navy. On February 15, 1958, he married Marlene Schmidt. This coming February Lyle and Marlene would have celebrated 65 years of marriage. Lyle and Marlene are members of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale and they founded and were active members of Pennbrooke Community Church in Leesburg, FL. Lyle worked at Mercury until retiring in 1989.

Lyle was president of the Fond du Lac County Snowmobile Association in the early 1970’s. He made custom golf clubs through his business, Woods to Wedges. Lyle also owned and operated a landscaping company for many years. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. Lyle and Marlene had end zone tickets at the Ice Bowl at Lambeau Field. Lyle will be remembered for always being fun and making people laugh.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; his children, Brett (Jean) Weed and Brenda (Jim) Fude; two grandchildren, Christopher (Dawn) Weed and Tyler (Brittany) Weed; three great-grandchildren, Eli, Ginny, and Zoey; two sisters-in-law, Carol (Jim) Laning, and Polly Weed; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and their spouses, Norman (Virginia), and David (Audrey).

Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Military graveside honors will take place at the funeral home following the service. Cremation will follow the service and private family interment will take place in spring at Rienzi Cemetery.
