Lynn Merle Herrick

Lynn Merle Herrick, 79, passed on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from PAH aggravated by Covid. She was born September 18, 1942, in Madison, the daughter of Saul and Estelle (Cominsky) Black. Lynn graduated from Madison West High School in 1960. After a year at Drake University, Lynn transferred to UW-Madison where she attended school with her future husband, Jim Herrick.



On January 30, 1964, Lynn and Jim were married in Madison and fraternal twins, Jim & John were born that year.

After Jim graduated from law school in 1968, the family moved to Fond du Lac where Jim joined the Laird and Sipple Law Firm. After Joey began attending school, Lynn started to engage in her love of dogs, joining the Fond du Lac Kennel Club and putting titles on her dogs. Ultimately, she and Jim decided to concentrate on breeding, training and showing German Shepherds. It was a dual partnership but with dogs, Lynn was the senior partner and ultimately, they produced 18 champions as well as three select and 2 best in show German Shepherds. Lynn loved her family without reservation. Her friends and dogs always came in second. She was very proud of her sons and their achievements.



She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Jim (Daphne), John (Susan), and Joe (Diana) Herrick; grandchildren, Jenny (Nick) Strobl, David (Carey) Herrick, and Michael Herrick; and great grandchildren, Kendall and Lincoln Herrick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Saul and Estelle.



The visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Rienzi Cemetery, N6101 County Highway K, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
