Marcella M. Groesbeck

Marcella M. Groesbeck, 94, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Edenbrook Fond du Lac. She was born in Fond du Lac on April 3, 1927, to Roman and Nellie (Baird) Resop. On May 3, 1947, Marcella married Elmer Groesbeck at St. Patrick’s Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on December 2, 1981.



Marcella was a foster grandmother to many children at Evans Elementary. She was a member of the Linette’s Dance Group, Fond du Lac Senior Center, and Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in North Fond du Lac.



Survivors include her four children, Sharon (Mike) Bonzelet, Barbara Groesbeck, Jim Groesbeck, and Patrick (Lynn) Groesbeck; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bonzelet, Renee (Troy) Kane, Amanda (Troy) Groesbeck, and Shawn Groesbeck; and three great-grandchildren, Meighan Kane, Rachel (Ben) Kane, and Kaeden Hodorff. She is further survived by her sister, Dorothy Palkovich; half-sister, Betty Kempka; and many nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Donald Resop; 2 half-brothers, Gordon Nast and Richard Nast; a half-sister, Cynthia Nast; and a special cousin, Delores Emmer.



Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A Liturgy of the Word will follow the visitation, beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery the following day at 10:00AM.
