Marcia Deising Hanna, 81, of 5005 Vista Road, Manitowoc and formerly of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living Home of Manitowoc. She was born March 27, 1928, in Flint, MI, the daughter of Jay J. and Lucille Choate Hanna. Marcia graduated from Flint, MI High School and later from General Motors Institute. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Fond du Lac. Marcia was an avid gardener, was active in numerous social organizations while living in the Appleton area, and enjoyed reading. The most important focus of her life was her family and enjoying the family dogs. Surviving are three daughters, Ann (Ron) Moon of Taycheedah, Lynn (Dan) Wier of Manitowoc, and Jane (J.D.) Shatswell of Green Bay, a son, David (Kari) Deising of Neenah, seven grandchildren, Anna (Broch) Thomas, Sarah (Mike) Olson, Nancy Nyberg, Meg, Mike (Fiancé' Patty), Andrew, and Jenny Deising, three great-grandchildren, Lyla, Oden, and Desmond, and her former husband of 29 years, John Deising of Appleton. Her parents, a son, Steven, and a brother, Jay preceded her in death.



Visitation for Marcia Deising Hanna will be on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 3 to 6 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6 pm at the funeral home on Friday. Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara will officiate and cremation will follow traditional services. Inurnment will be in Rienzi Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established in Marcia's name.
