Marie L. Abler

Marie L. Abler, 85, of Malone, died Friday, April 15, 2016 at Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary. Marie was born in Fond du Lac on December 14, 1930 a daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Schmitz) Mand. On September 4, 1954, she married Wilfred “Willie” Abler at St. Peter Catholic in St. Peter. He preceded her in death on March 30th of this year.

After 16 days without the love of her life, mom went to be with dad.



Surviving Marie are her 5 children; Betty (Bob) Schnyder, Jane Ziegelbauer, Ron (Kris), Sandy (Pete) Knaus, and Kay (Kevin) Blanck; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Servie (Marie) and Leo (Irene); 2 sisters, Gen Kopplin and Virginia Schneider; a sister-in-law, Esther Mand; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by 6 sisters-in-law, Julitta (Elmer) Schmitz, Rita Diederichs, Lorraine Ballwanz, Bernice (Gerald) Diederichs, Marion (Ron) Freund and Kathy (Al) Kempf; and a brother-in-law, Don (Dianna) Abler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie; her parents, Peter and Elizabeth; 4 brothers, Al (Lydia), Ambrose (Agnes), Ray (Mary) and Fritz; a sister, Florence (Alex) Michels; 5 brothers-in-law, Emil Kopplin, Adolph Schneider, Roger (Mary) Abler, Melvin Diederichs and Bob Ballwanz.



VISITATION for Marie will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter. MASS of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Fr. Larry Abler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Parish Cemetery.



The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses of Villa Loretto for their care of mom over the past 18 months. Willie and Marie enjoyed walks outside, seeing the animals of Villa Loretto.
