Marilyn M. Wells

Marilyn M. Wells, age 87, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Lakeview Assisted Living. She was born on August 5, 1930 in Green Valley, WI, the daughter of Matt and Florence (Lotto) Kluball. She was raised in Rhinelander where she met and married Art Wells. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1970. On October 1, 1972 she moved her family to Fond du Lac. Marilyn was employed at Moraine Park Technical College for many years and retired from there. Marilyn was bored at home so she decided to go back to work. She worked for the Fond du Lac County Treasurer’s Office until she retired for the second time.



Marilyn enjoyed weekly visits on Monday with Marcia and on Tuesday’s with her youngest son Zeke and his family and her grandson “Bro” and his wife. She often spoke of the Harley ride last summer she took with her sons (Matt and Mike). She appreciated all of the time her daughter Terry took taking her to multiple appointments.



Survivors include ten children, Dawn (Robert Ryan) Jewell of Gleason, WI, Glenda (Terry) Wickert of Fond du Lac, Daniel (Amy) Wells of Suring, WI, Marcia (William) Snyder of Fond du Lac, WI, Michael (Susan) Wells of Rhinelander, WI, Teresa (Michael) Compton of Fond du Lac, WI, Timothy (Lori) Wells of Augusta, WI, Matthew (Cinde Lawver) Wells of Appleton, Ann (Brian Pluim) Wells of Brandon, WI, and Patrick “Zeke” (Christine) Wells of Fond du Lac, WI; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Christine Wheaton of Corsicana, TX, and Sandra Thornton of Fond du Lac, WI; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Art.



Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the traditional services.



In the words of granddaughter Wendy Reiss, we didn’t have the “typical” grandma. And we loved it. Even though she could drive us crazy, we always knew where we stood. You want a sweet grandma that will knit you a sweater? Well that wasn’t her. You want to shotgun a beer and stay up until 2am? You want to know the honest truth and hear continuous stories about her grandkids? This was our grandma. A stubborn lady who refused to ever give up, or act her age, a grandma who was SO PROUD of her always growing family. She will be missed by many.
