Marin "Jean" Wolff, 88, formerly of 94 7th Street, Fond du Lac, died Sunday, January 29, 2006, at Encore Senior Living. She was born on September 3, 1917, in Princeton, WI, the daughter of Charles and Mary Messing Powers, On July 11, 1936, she married Carlton J. "Cooley" Wolff in Hebron, IN. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1991. Jean was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School.For years she was a seamstress and did tailoring. She was the buyer of womenswear at the Fond du Lac Department Store as well as H.C. Prange, and many years were doing surveys for Promens Market Research. She was creative throughout her life, and took great joy in cooking, painting, sewing, quilting, collecting dolls, as well as repairing them, antiquing, and dollhouse making. Jean and her husband loved spending weekends with their grandchildren, traveling around the country-side, picnicking, sledding, fishing, hiking, looking for arrowheads, , and creating years of loving memories for their grandchildren. Jean is survived by two daughters, Marleen Koenigs and Susan (John) Peterson-Letourneau, both of Fond du Lac, a special niece, Sally (Lincoln) Albertz of Fond du Lac, five grandchildren, Craig (Marion) Koenigs of Washington, D.C., Brett Koenigs of Milwaukee, WI, Kim Peterson and Kari (Wayne) Baker, both of Fond du Lac, and Kyle Peterson of Madison, loving friends, Richard Koenigs and William Peterson, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cooley, a granddaughter, Tami Koenigs, a brother and four sisters.
