Marion G. Hannes

December 13, 1932 — May 16, 2014

Marion G. Hannes, 81, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Hospice Home of Hope. She was born December 13, 1932, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Fred and Elsie Kielberg Rebedew. She was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School. On August 18, 1962, she married Thomas J. Hannes at St. Louis Church. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and was formerly employed by St. Louis Church as head of its school lunch program. Marion was a member of the St. Louis/St. Anne Society, St. Vincent De Paul Society, and volunteered for St. Agnes Hospital where she made lap robes for Cancer patients. She was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas, a daughter, Jeanine (Charles “Gordy”) Schroeder of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Shelley (DJ) Ohm and their children Kady and Jaeger of Cokato, MN, Charles (Kathy Dekker) Schroeder of New Holstein and their children Austin, Katelynn, Addiana, Jeremiah (Kathy) Schroeder and their children Kaleigh and Wesley of Appleton, and Timothy (Koreena) Schroeder of Fond du Lac. She is further survived by her sister, Margaret Gruenwald of Fond du Lac, her sisters-in-law, Suzanne Higgins and Claudia (James) Kitts, both of Fond du Lac, and brothers-in-law, Norbert Wallender of Fond du Lac, Rodney (Jean) Hannes of Fairview Heights, IL, and Kenneth Brown of Eden. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Hannes, two brothers, Jerry and James Rebedew, two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Lorraine De Vaney, three brothers-in-law, John “Red” Higgins, James Hannes, and George Gruenwald, and a sister-in-law, Karilyn Wallender.



The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Hospice Home of Hope for their compassion for Marion during her stay, and Dr. Maruska for his professional and caring manner.
