Marion L. Batura

Marion L. Batura, 83, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at her residence. She was born March 3, 1929 in Wyoming, the daughter of Edward and Florence Beckman Zellmer. Marion was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, North Fond du Lac. On October 23, 1953 she married George F. Batura at the Apostolic Christian Church in Milawukee. Marion was ordained a minister on October 28, 1978. She was the associate pastor of the Apostolic Christian Church in Van Dyne until 1983 and co pastor in Fond du Lac's Apostolic Christian Church for several years. She also served as organist for those churches. Marion ministered to the inmates at Taycheedah Correctional Institution for 20 years. Over the years Marion touched many people's lives, officiating many weddings and funerals. Marion loved God, teaching his word, having a heart of mercy and grace always reaching out to others. She was an avid reader continually educating herself and found great joy from her cats, along with bird watching and the squirrels in her yard. SURVIVORS: her beloved husband, George; her cousin, Conni Potratz, who was like her daughter, and her family, Fond du Lac; one sister, Florence (Wayne) Barton, Waukesha; her niece, Gay (Terry) Glaser, TX, and her daughter, Joelle. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lorraine Bertram and Esther Euhardy.



VISITATION: will be from 3 "“ 8 PM on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 9 "“ 10 AM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Dr. David Bruenning officiating. Private family burial will be held in Rienzi Cemetery.Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
