Marjorie K. Halfman

Marjorie Katherine Halfman, 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Friday,May 10, 2013 at Artisan Assisted Living. She was born in Salina, Oklahoma, on February 23, 1926, to Irene (Manderscheid) and Chester Virl Brooks. She and her brother Donald moved to Wisconsin in 1932 to live with their Uncle Howard and Minnie Manderscheid. On April 22, 1950, she married Orlando Halfman and dedicated her life to her husband and raising their 7 children. She worked as a cook in the school lunch program for 12 years before retirement. Marjorie loved to read, sew, embroider, quilt, solve crossword puzzles, and camp with her family. She will be remembered for being a loving, self-sacrificing wife and mother. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Orlando, on June 19, 2011, her son-in-law John Will, and 2 brothers, Donald Brooks and John Rowley. She is survived by her children Gwendolyn (Jeffrey) Reeck, Middleton; Karen Will, F.D.L; Cynthia (Michael) Bayer, Duluth, MN; Charles (Janet) Halfman, F.D.L; Teresa (David) Gomach, Neenah; AnnaMarie (Tom) Sosnoski, Oshkosh; Christine (Andrew) Whealon, F.D.L., 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and sister Floreine Lomax of Tulsa, OK.



A private service for Marjorie was held on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
