Mark A. Heller, 56, of Cudahy, Wisconsin, was killed in an auto accident on January 19, 2010 in the Town of Alto. He was born on June 16, 1953 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the eldest son of Melvin and Arlene (Stangfield) Heller. He grew up in Fond du Lac and graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1971. After high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, majoring in education, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1975. He held middle-school teaching positions in the cities of Fond du Lac, Kenosha, Racine and South Milwaukee. In recent years, he served as a volunteer in the prison ministry of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.He is survived by his son, Kyle, and daughter, Dione, both of Milwaukee; his father, Melvin E. Heller of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Jeffrey S. (Karen) Heller of Houston, Texas; David A. Heller of San Antonio, Texas; and James E. (Colleen Shea) Heller of Fond du Lac. His mother, Arlene, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mark A. Heller will be on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Liturgy of The Word for Christian Burial services will be at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate and burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park.
