Our adventurous, fun loving, larger than life son, brother, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at UW Madison Hospital.
Mark was surrounded by his wife, Annie; his children, Daniel, Alan, and Elizabeth; and the voices of his Texas family, Mimi (Mum); brother, David; Sisters, Judy and Deanna; nieces, Vicki, Nikki, and Hayley. He listened to the funny, silly, curious, smart, beautiful voices of his granddaughters, Maggie (Margaret Anne Irish, 5), and Lily-Bug (Lillian Jane Irish, 2). Our niece Hayley said “Mark left this world with no regrets.”
He packed in a whole lot of adventure in a life cut short.
His Mom and Dad (Sweet Dude) loved him dearly with all of their being. He will be missed greatly by his loving family.
We send a piece of our hearts with Mark (Grandpa Cactus) on his last adventure that unfortunately he has to take alone. Mark’s laughter and adventurous spirit will live on through his children and granddaughters.
Mark made friends wherever he went, and we are grateful for all of them. He will be sorrowfully missed by many.
Mark loved the mountains, the beach, the sun, he loved visiting State and National parks and monuments. He loved to hike, mountain bike, kayak, rockhound, gold pan, metal detect, play with his children and granddaughters. He loved to drive, he loved history, listening to heavy metal music and loved to hang out with his buddies. In short, MARK LOVED LIFE!
A beautiful human being is gone but not forgotten. We know Mark would not like us to be sad for very long. We will Cherish our memories with him and enjoy the beauty around us. The sun, the mountains, the waters, and the smiles of his girls.
Memorials in Mark’s name should be directed to the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health.
Peace, good health, and happiness to all.
