Mark S. Gilliam, 59, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born in San Jose, Calif. on July 9, 1956 a son of Gerald and Wilma (Hughes) Gilliam. On July 8, 1982 he married Diane M. Vande Streek in Fond du Lac.
He enjoyed hunting, motorcycling and most of all, spending time with his family. Together, Mark and Diane also coached softball in North Fond du Lac for many years. For 41 years, he worked at the same location and was one of the first 100 registered Honda motorcycle mechanics in the United States.
Surviving family include his wife of 33 years, Diane; 2 daughters, Toni (Nickolas) Wellman of Monroe, Wis. and Amanda (Jesse) Krueger of Ogden, Utah; 4 grandchildren, Joah, Brynleigh, Reagan and Foster; 3 brothers, Gerald, Brian and Patrick; his wife’s parents, Bernard and Doris Vande Streek; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Micah; and his parents, Gerald and Wilma.
Visitation for Mark will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac and again on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Grace Reformed Church, 163 18th St. in Fond du Lac. A Memorial Service will be held beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Barry Vegter officiating. Cremation has taken place.
