Martha G. Petrie

Martha G. Petrie, 91, a resident of the St. Francis Home, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the home. She was born in Mt. Calvary on May 14, 1919 the daughter of Simon S. and Rose M. Gundert Birschbach. OnSeptember 19,1938 she married Harold P. Petrie at Holy Cross Church, Mt. Calvary. Harold preceded her in death on November 27, 2000. Martha was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Peter's Church, St. Peter since1938. She was a former member of the Christian Mothers. Martha enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk, cooking, sewing, and being with her family.SURVIVORS: include her four children; Ann (David) Click, Knoxville, TN, Stanley (Marjorie) Petrie, Quebec, Canada, Charles (Kay) Petrie, Hartford, and Dennis (Mary) Petrie, Brookfield. She is further survived by a son- in- law, Vern Fuhrmann, Plymouth, and a daughter- in law, Carol Petrie, Brookfield, eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Martha is also survived by her four brothers and sisters; Nelson (Dolly) Birschbach, Beaver Dam, Eugene (Rose) Birschbach, Mt. Calvary, James Birschbach, Malone, Joan(Jerome) Diederichs, Fond du Lac, a sister-in-law, Esther (Elmer) Deitte, Fond du Lac, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Mary Grace Fuhrmann, and a son, Thomas Petrie, three sisters and two brothers.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 4"“ 6 PM at Holy Family Parish-St. Peter's Church, St. Peter. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 PM, Wednesday,December 22, 2010 at the church with Reverend Victor Capriolo officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services with inurnment at a later date in the parish cemetery.Memorials appreciated to Hospice Hope.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
