Martha "Maisie" Kaufman, 80, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 7, 1932, in Black Creek, WI, the daughter of Henry and Martha Hedika Adami. On August 29, 1953, she married Bernard "Bernie" Kaufman in Appleton. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2005. Maisie was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. Maisie and her husband owned and operated Kremer Pharmacy from 1961 to 1971. Her true love was her family and friends. She was a devoted wife and full time dedicated mother to six children. She was a die-hard Cubs fan, enjoyed the outdoors and took pride in her massive gardens. She also enjoyed fishing and family time at Manson and Kelly Lakes. She was an avid reader, was a world class scrabble player, was involved with Sigma, and gave her time to Loaves and Fishes.Surviving are three daughters, Heidi (Pat) Prochnow of Green Bay, Debbie Hebert of Fond du Lac, and Julie Kaufman of Fond du Lac, three sons, Mike (Sue) Kaufman of Waupun, Steven (Jackie) Kaufman of Fond du Lac, and Danny Kaufman of Roseville, MN, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat, "Heinie". Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation for Martha "Maisie" Kaufman will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from 3 to 6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of The Word for Christian Burial services will be at 6 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate. Cremation has taken place and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Maisie's name.
