Martin E. "Marty" Putz Martin E. "Marty" Putz, 76, of 1016 Primrose Lane, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born September 7, 1929, in Fond du Lac, the son of John and Martha Buell Putz. On June 26, 1955, he married Charmaine Sabel at the 1st Baptist Church in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on May 9, 1996. He was formerly employed by Galloway West for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Marty was a former hockey player and a great supporter of the Fond du Lac Bears. He learned to play golf later in life and loved it. He enjoyed playing cribbage (in which he had a perfect game), watching football, and listening to big band music. Surviving is a daughter, Amy (Dennis) Fitzpatrick of Fond du Lac, a son, Carey (Mary Beth) Adams of Pewaukee, two grandsons, Evan (Ashley) Fitzpatrick and Joshua Fitzpatrick, both of Fond du Lac, and a granddaughter, Ellie Marie Adams, of Pewaukee. Further surviving is a sister, Betty Heideman, of Burnette, WI, and his dear friends, Anne (Bob) Jacobs and Dan Snyder, all of Fond du Lac. His parents, wife, four sisters, Jean Blake, Margaret Waggoner, Myrtle Ann Putz, and Carrie Lou Putz, and a son, John "Sonny" Putz, Jr. preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Martin E. "Marty" Putz will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2006, from 3:30 to 7:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 10:30 am at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Deacon Larry Hughes will officiate and burial will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
