Mary A. Morgan

Our mom, grandma, aunt, sister and friend was called to her home in heaven on Friday, January 5, 2018. Mary was born in Fond du Lac on August 19, 1936 to Arthur and Martha Schaub.

On December 30, 1980 she married Robert “Bob” Morgan. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2006.



She was most proud of her role as mom and grandma and dearly loved her sons and grandchildren and loved to share stories of their lives. She loved a good game of cards and cocktail hour. She and Bob enjoyed their mornings playing sheepshead with friends at Lori’s in Lamartine for many years. Their winters spent in Florida were some of her favorite memories. Playing cribbage with her grandsons brought her great joy. Family dinner on Sunday nights were her specialty and it brought her great joy when the whole family could be there (we were all excited that dessert was included at every one of them!). She was a master of jigsaw puzzles and always had one out on the table in progress. She loved spending time doing a crossword puzzle while drinking her morning coffee. She was an avid reader and she spent many afternoons curled up on the couch with a good book. She was kind and gentle and this is how we will remember her.



She is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Lee Ann) Gerner and Dennis (Faith) Gerner, all of Fond du Lac; her stepchildren, Pat (Karlis) Musa of Ithaca, New York and Sharon (Paul) Hauser of The Villages, Florida and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Morgan of Oakfield; her sister, Jane Peterson of Fond du Lac and her brother David (Debbie) Schaub of Sarasota, Florida. She is further survived by her grandchildren Josh and Jacob Gerner, Caleb and Claire Gerner, Brian (Cindy) Morgan, Sara (Rick) Lennertz, Ryan and Devan Musa and Mark and Keven Hauser. She also was a great-grandmother to six (Hayden, Leighton, Grant, Quinn, Ivy and Adelynn). Preceding her in death were her husband, Bob; a step-son, Tim Morgan; and a grandson, Thomas Hauser.



We wish to give our love and gratitude to her niece and our cousin, Mary “Candy” Bord who spent much of her time being a friend to and caring for our mom.



She was well-loved and we will miss her.



Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with The Rev. Mike Hackbarth officiating. Entombment in Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery will follow the services.
