Mary A. (Wagner) Baldauf

July 14, 1945 — November 12, 2022

Mary A. (Wagner) Baldauf, 77, of Fond du Lac, passed away Saturday, November 12th, 2022, at her home. She was born July 14, 1945, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Ambrose and Alma (Smedberg) Wagner. After graduating from L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, she married the love of her life, Joseph Baldauf, on August 3rd, 1963, at St Mary’s Church. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, working mostly as a proud homemaker. She loved to spend her time reading, sewing, and cooking. Some of her recipes are still being prepared today.

She is survived by her four children, Dyana (Paul) Husnick of Wisconsin Rapids, Bob (Lisa) Baldauf of Fond du Lac, Tammy Evenstad of Rhinelander, and Dan (Carla) Baldauf of Fond du Lac. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shane (Brittany), Brett (Ben), Kyle (Kiley), Aaron, Aly (Cody), Travis (Jayme), Jordyn (Hannah), Mikayla, Sebastiano and Aidan; great-grandchildren, Knox, Holden, Teagan, Lyanna, and Kyra; sisters-in-law Carol Wagner and Sharon Baldauf. She is further survived by cousins John (Colleen) Smedberg, Carla (John) Scannell, Steve Smedberg, and Paul (Kay) Smedberg and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Baldauf, an infant son, Michael; parents, Ambrose and Alma Wagner; brother, Eugene Wagner; aunts and uncles, Swede and Wilma Smedberg, Gladys Mutz and Ethel and Hans Stillerand.

While the last years of Mary’s life were spent under the heavy weight of dementia, together her family was able to honor her wishes by keeping her at home, led by our father’s love and devotion and carried on by the selfless care of her daughter Tammy Evenstad. She will be missed by all.

A private family graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery with a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the dementia research organization of your choice.
