Mary C. Manthey, 78, of 996 Primrose Lane, Fond du Lac, went to her eternal rest Saturday, June 14, 2008 at her son's residence. She was born July 6, 1929, the daughter of John and Theresa Loehr Wettstein in Fond du Lac. On July 10, 1948 she married Herman J. Manthey at St. John's Catholic Church, Byron. Mary was a nursing assistant for many years at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church since 1988 and a member of the Christian Women's Group. She was a member of the Gold and Silver Club, the Fond du Lac and Lomira Senior Centers and volunteered at St. Agnes Hospital and Loaves and Fishes. She enjoyed watching the Brewers, playing cards and bingo, listening to music, embroidery, traveling, gardening and especially spending time with family and friends. SURVIVORS: six lovely children and their spouses, Donna Tavs, Fond du Lac, John (Patty) Manthey, Fond du Lac, Mary (David) Morstad, Watertown, James (Terri) Manthey, Fond du Lac, Dale (Penny) Manthey, Fond du Lac, David (Terri) Manthey, Fond du Lac; 15 lovely grandchildren, Christina (Daniel) Brossard, Patrick (Fiancee, Michelle Krueger) Rauls, Joshua Rauls, Matthew (Special Friend, Ashley Hernandez) Manthey, Timothy Manthey, Adam Morstad, Carissa Morstad, Katrina (Fiance, Leon LaVigne) Morstad, Janis (Lucas) Birschbach, Jolene (Special Friend, Bradley Emmer) Manthey, Amanda Jo Manthey, Tyler, Zachary, Toby, David Joseph Manthey; one lovely great grandson, Devon Brossard. She is further survived by her Very Best Friend, Robert Kelroy, Fond du Lac; one sister, Rita (Harvey) Freund, Malone; one brother, Herbert Wettstein, Germantown; two sisters-in-law, Helen Wettstein, Fond du Lac, Margaret Manthey, Fond du Lac; three brothers-in-law, Robert Seal, Fond du Lac, Ambrose Loecher, Fond du Lac, Lawrence (Jeanne) Manthey, Sheboygan Falls; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; one grandson, Nathan Morstad; two sisters, Juliana Loecher, Monica Seal; two brothers, Kenneth Wettstein, Bernard Wettstein; a sister-in-law, Patty Wettstein.



VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 8 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Thursday at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church from 10 "“ 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
