Mary J. Lang

Mary Joann Lang, 58,of 37 N. Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI died peacefully Tuesday February 24, 2009 at home with her family, friends and 4-legged family by her side after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born on July 6, 1950 the daughter of Warren T. and Lucille M. Weston Francis in Fond du Lac, WI. Mary graduated from St. Mary Springs High School in 1968. She married Robert C. Lang on May 1, 1971 at St. Joseph's Church. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Mary and a group of her best friends and family started an ACS Relay for life team doing several different things to earn over $25,000 in 3 years. She was involved with the Fond du Lac 4-H Club for the past 20 years and the leader of the Horse and Pony Project. She was very involved with numerous different horse shows that involved traveling and supporting her daughters in all their endeavors including sleeping in her van and in the horse trailers. She loved going camping with her family. Mary won many ribbons training her dog's obedience and agility and was very active in AKC events. She recently volunteered her time to train the FFA and 4-H members dog agility. Her friends and family will sadly miss her.SURVIVORS: her husband, Robert; two daughters, Christine (special friend, Tom LaPine) Lang and Julie (Shawn) Grossman all of Fond du Lac; her mother, Lucille Francis, Fond du Lac; one brother, Jack Francis, Fond du Lac; and special cousin, Carol Miritz, Fond du Lac; her father-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Lang Sr., Fond du Lac, a sister-in-law, Stephanie (Robert) Thurk, Fond du Lac. and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren on July 19, 1998; her brother, Tom on November 19, 2007; mother-in-law, Helen Lang.



A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 8:30 A.M. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church, 200 South Peters Avenue. The Reverend Victor Capriolo will officiate. Following the mass a Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at the Eagles Club, 514 N. Park Avenue from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Cremation has taken place.
