Mary L. Schmitz

April 30, 1916 — April 11, 2005

Mary L. Schmitz, 88, formerly of W3236 Schmitz Dr. in Mt. Calvary and currently a resident of All About Life Rehabilitation Center died Monday, April 11, 2005 at the nursing home. Mary was born April 30, 1916 in the Town of Forest, a daughter of Anton and Laura Meier Loehr. On November 26, 1936 she married Arthur Schmitz Sr. at St. Michael's Church in Dotyville. He preceded her in death in 1997. Mary graduated from St. Mary's Springs in 1933. Mary farmed with her husband in rural Mt. Calvary for many years. She and her husband were members of the National Farmers Organization. Mary was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Peters' Church and was a former choir member. She enjoyed oil painting, crocheting, knitting, and loved going to the senior center to play cards. Survivors include eight children; Anthony (Pat) Schmitz of Mt. Calvary, Carol Schmitz of Mt. Calvary, Nick (Patti) Schmitz of Union Grove, Robert Schmitz of Rio Nido, CA, Arthur Jr. (Cindy) Schmitz of Burlington, Nita (Al) Schultz of Rosendale, Donald (Karen) Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Veronica (Ken) Schultz of Mt. Calvary, 27 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two brothers; Rev. Charles Loehr of Dotyville, Brother Peter Loehr SM of San Antonio, TX, and four sister-in-laws; Violet Loehr of Fond du Lac, Sally Loehr of Fond du Lac, Imelda Diedrich of Appleton, and Irene Schmitz of Appleton. Her husband, her parents, three brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Schmitz will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2005 from 10-11 A.M. at Holy Family Parish-St. Peter Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the church with the Rev. Dennis Budka officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. Memorials in Mary's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Hope. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of Woodlands Assisted Living, and the staff, doctorsand nurses at All About Life.
