Mary Lou GeigerMary Lou Geiger, 78, formerly of 7 Manor Hill Drive, Eden, died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Manor Care Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past six years. She was born June 8, 1927, in the Town of Byron, the daughter of Lawrence and Marcella Schoofs Schwartz. On May 13, 1944, she married Harry C. Geiger at St. John's in Byron. She was formerly employed by Oak Grove Green House and later at Wells Manufacturing. She was a proud member and past President of the Eden Senior Center. Mary Lou was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ.Surviving are two daughters, Mary Smit of Fond du Lac, and Sandy (Roy) Surita of Seattle, WA, three sons, Robert (Marianne) Geiger and David (Linda) Geiger, both of Fond du Lac, and Charles (Ann) Geiger of Eden, 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Susan (William) Nitzke of Cottage Grove, WI, and a brother, Larry (Lorraine) Schwartz of Thomaston, CT, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Her parents, husband, a brother and sister-in-law, Harold Schwartz and Kathryn Schwartz, and a son-in-law, Roy Smit, preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Mary Lou Geiger will be on Friday, January 20, 2006, from 4 to 7 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Byron. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday at the church. The Rev. Sharon Stier will officiate and burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Mrs. Geiger's name.
