Mary M. Immel

Mary M. Immel, 92, formerly of W4261 Artesian Road, Fond du Lac, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at Manor Care Nursing Center where she had been a resident for the past 3½ years. She was born March 25, 1916, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Costello Hass. On November 30, 1940, she married Marvin E. Immel in Fond du Lac. Mrs. Immel was a member of Holy Family Parish. She was a 4-H leader and a past member of the Farm Bureau Women.She also belonged to the Lakeside Twirlers. She and her husband celebrated their 68th Anniversary in 2008.Surviving is her husband, Marvin; six sons, Ken M. (Sandy) Immel of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Paul H. (Joyce) Immel, Carlton E. (Sue) Immel, Ronald J. (Janice) Immel, Jerold R. (Jeanne) Immel, and Rodney K. (Janet) Immel all of Fond du Lac; a daughter Linda L. (John) Johnson of Fond du Lac; 22 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, Leonard (Leota) Hass and Robert (Mary) Hass, both of Fond du Lac, one sister, Gert Hartman of Fond du Lac, two sisters-in-law, Leona Hass and Verna Immel, both of Fond du Lac, and one brother-in-law, Henry Immel of Fond du Lac. Her parents, three brothers, Herbert, Gordon, and George Hass, a sister, Agnes Murphy, three sisters-in-law, Cedona Hass, Ruth Hass, and Lucille Wightman, and three brothers-in-law, Leo Murphy, Harold C. Immel, and Charles Wightman preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mrs. Mary M. Immel will be on Monday, February 23, 2009, from 9 to 11 am at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Monday at the church. The Rev. Carmelo Giuffre will officiate and entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mary's name.
