Mary R. Thurk

Mary R. Thurk, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Hospice Home of Hope with family by her side. She was born April 30, 1938 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Edwin and Frances LaPine Ziegler. Mary was a graduate of Goodrich High School. On May 30, 1987 she married Donald A. Thurk at Sacred Heart Church and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2010. Mary worked for the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, reading, watching baseball, taking long drives, entertaining and cooking for family and friends, and loved being with her boys and grandkids.



She is survived by her four sons, Robert (Linda Carr) Pelletier of Sun Prairie, James (Mary Ann) Pelletier of Fond du Lac, Gary (Sarah) Pelletier of Sun Prairie, and Brian (Judy Tappendorf) Pelletier of Verona; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Devin) VanTassell, Sarah (Buck Dumanch) Pelletier, Amber Pelletier, Kiersten Pelletier, Kyra Pelletier, Brennen Pelletier, Kelsey Pelletier, Presten Pelletier, Ethan, Leah, and Allison Pink; two great grandchildren, Keegan and Kinsley VanTassell; her sister, Joan Merz of Fond du Lac; ex husband, Robert Pelletier of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter-in-law, Melanie Pelletier; brother, Donald (Dixie) Ziegler; and brother-in-law, Tom Merz.



The visitation will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Holy Family Parish. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
