Mary S. Velasco

Mary S. Velasco, 91, formerly of 533 Ann Street, and a resident of Manor Care Nursing Home for the past four years died Monday, February 27, 2012. She was born September 12, 1920, in Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Nicolas and Cruz Lara Sanchez. She was formerly employed by Rosendale Canning and the Retlaw Hotel. Surviving are four sons, Peter and his children, Robert, David, Damien, and Anna, Abundio and his children Santana and Xavier, Joseph (Sheila) and their children Amanda, Amber, Alyssa, and Sabrina, and John Paul (Mary) and their children Asia and Jeremy, and two daughters, Virginia (James) and their children Melissa, Patricia, Lori, Deborah, and Theresa and her children Joan, Nicholas, and Susie. She is further survived by 14 great-grandchildren. Her parents, husband, and a son, John Mark preceded her in death.



Visitation for Mary S. Velasco will be on Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 3 to 6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial services will be at 6 PM at the funeral home on Thursday. Deacon Ricardo Munoz will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery.
