Meagan Ann (Smet) Klapperich, 38, of St. Anna, passed away unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm on June 8, 2024. Meagan was a twin, born on November 15, 1985, in Fond du Lac, daughter of Mary Ellen Wendels. After Mary Ellen’s untimely passing in 2003, Joan and Peter Wettstein became stand-in parents for the family.
Meagan was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School before attending college. Meagan would go on to explore careers in nursing and hospitality before helping to grow their family business, Klapperich Heating and Cooling. Meagan married her best friend and soulmate, Ryan Stanley Klapperich, on June 15, 2017, in Chilton. Together they have two beautiful daughters, Mary Ella Rose and Sage Addison. Meagan selflessly devoted her life to her children, whom she cherished above all else. Her legacy will live on through them.
Meagan loved all of God’s creatures and would take in any stray that she could. She had a special love for horses and recently achieved her dream of owning her first horse, Whiskey. Meagan enjoyed everything about the outdoors, including horseback riding, fishing, gardening and scouring the country ditches for asparagus. If Meagan couldn’t be found, she was likely with her twin brother, either harvesting his garden or joining him on an adventure. Another passion of Meagan’s was coaching her girls’ softball teams in The Holyland and she was eager to start umping local games. Meagan had the biggest heart and always had a willingness to help others. Meagan was a free spirit who had a zest for life and could fill a room with her infectious spirit. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Meagan is survived by her husband, Ryan; two daughters, Mary Ella and Sage, all of St. Anna; three siblings, twin Jesse Smet (Aaron), Jacob Smet, Ellie Smet; sister-in-law, Jenny Klapperich; along with five nephews, Ethan, Dylan, Jackson, Lukas and Jasper; in-laws, Rose and Stan Klapperich; grandparents, Mary Wendels and Constance Smet. Meagan is further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, along with many near and dear friends. Meagan leaves this world to join her mother once again. Meagan was preceded in death by her mother, several grandparents, aunts and uncles.
