Melinda R. Gough

Melinda R. Gough, 56, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital after a courageous one-year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was born December 30, 1961 in Waupun, a daughter of Earl and Helen (Moede) Sterr. Melinda was a 1980 graduate of Lomira H.S. and would later earn her AAS in Accounting from MPTC in Fond du Lac. On October 24, 1987, she married Stewart Gough in Fond du Lac.



For over a decade, Melinda worked as an accounting associate for Foy & Springborn, CPA in Fond du Lac. She enjoyed walks with her friends and especially the walks with her dog, “Penny”. Melinda will be remembered as a loving, dedicated mother, always an advocate for her son, Ryan. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac for more than thirty years.



Survivors include her husband, Stewart; son, Ryan (Alicia) Gough; brother, Randall (Nancy “Nan”) Sterr; sister, Brenda (Myles) Geschke; two brothers-in-law, Bradley (Elizabeth) Gough and Morris (Sandy) Kutcheck; sister-in-law, Sheryl (Bill) Ganz; six nephews; three nieces; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband’s parents, James (Lucille) Gough.



In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Lutheran Church and/or Kathy’s House of Milwaukee (kathys-house.org) are appreciated.



Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018, beginning at 10:30 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent St. in Fond du Lac with Rev. Mark Wilkens officiating. Visitation at the church will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Cremation has taken place.
