Melvin E. Gere

Melvin E. GereMelvin E. Gere, 77, formerly of Milwaukee and a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home died Sunday, September 5, 2004 at the home. Melvin was born January 12, 1927 in Flint, MI, a son of Charlie L. and Margaret L. Crooks Gere. Melvin worked for Charter Wire Co. in Milwaukee for 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Seaman First Class. He loved playing Santa, fishing, and golfing.Survivors include his wife Elizabeth of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, loving father of two sons and one daughter; Charley (Rose) Gere of Troup, TX, Russell (Janet) Gere of El Cajon, CA, Linda (Bruce) Zivkovich of Fond du Lac, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.



Visitation: Thursday, September 9, 2004 from 1-4 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.Funeral Services: Thursday, September 9, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Desilet officiating. Cremation will follow traditional services. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 will conduct military services at the funeral home. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
