Merle W. Kiesner

Merle W. Kiesner, 89, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born August 18, 1928 in Fond du Lac, the son of Donald and Irene Fritz Kiesner. Merle served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946 – 1951. On July 20, 1970 he married Geraldine M. Price in Waukegan, IL and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2007. Merle worked as an auto mechanic and 25 years at Mercury Marine until retirement. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #270, Disabled American Veterans, US Marine Corps League, and Brothertown Indian Nation. Merle enjoyed auto racing, coin collecting, ceramics, playing cribbage, gambling, and going out for breakfast.



He is survived by his son, Robert (Barbara) Kiesner, Sr. of Kenosha; step daughter, Jean (Leonard) Gudex of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Robert (Lisa) Kiesner, Jr., Josh (Megan) Kiesner, David (Samantha) Gudex, Jeffrey (Brenda) Gudex, and Craig (Amanda) Gudex; nine great grandchildren, Emily Grace, Jacob Robert, Caleb Joshua, Isabelle Yolanda, Connor, Clara, Griffin, Olivia, and Ava; two brothers, Richard (Kathy) Kiesner of Wild Rose and James (Ruth) Kiesner of Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Joyce Radder of Arkansas; brother-in-law, Kenny Traub of West Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine; one brother, Gerald Kiesner; and one sister, Kay Traub.



The visitation will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Entombment will follow the visitation at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
