Michael B. Thew

Michael B. Thew, 57, of Oshkosh, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 23, 1957 in Ashland, WI, the son of Richard F. and Darlene M. Koski Thew. Mike graduated from Goodrich High School in 1974. He served in the U.S. Air Force from February 1979 until February 1983. He received his Bachelor of Social Science Degree in 2004 from Marian College. He was a member of Salem Eldorado UMC. Mike was employed as a social worker with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. He also was a counselor for many years at the Blandine House in Fond du Lac. Mike was active in the Fond du Lac and Oshkosh AA groups, enjoyed exercising, gardening, and loved his dogs.



He is survived by his friend, Ross Proulx of Appleton; seven siblings, Diane (Dennis) Waterman of Oconomowoc, Richard (Judy Varney) Thew of Curtis, Carol (Larry) Roberts of Hartford, Linette (Roman) Bachaus of Fond du Lac, Jackie (Roger) Freund of Fond du Lac, Dean (Nancy) Thew of Los Angeles, CA, Kirk (Stacey) Thew of Fond du Lac; one brother-in-law, Bruce Manderle of Fond du Lac; his beloved dogs, Junior and Harrison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wendy Manderle.



The visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Pastor Stacey Thew officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services. Burial will take place at a later date in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King,WI.
