Michael Joseph Gross

December 21, 1952 — January 28, 2021

Michael Joseph Gross, 68, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was born on December 21, 1952 in Fond du Lac, the son of Robert and Beverly (Kuehl) Gross. On November 24, 1993 he married his “gorgeous” wife, Terry in Fond du Lac. They often told each other that “ they were the best thing that ever happened” to each other and Terry always referred to her husband as: “My Michael.” They complimented each other very well and were always happy to be amongst each other’s company. Michael always told Terry “ Not to worry” and he never let her down. He would also tell her, “ Have I told you lately that I love you?” She would say, “No.” And he would say, “Well, I do!”

Michael worked at several car dealerships in the finance department. He was an ELKS Club member who bowled a 300 game, that in his words, never really counted because it was couples bowling. He was a very social person who made everyone feel comfortable around him with his positive and easy-going attitude. He made friends wherever he went. Michael loved living on Lake Winnebago and pontooning with family and friends. He grew to love living out in the country with his gorgeous wife. Michael loved to bowl, hunt, travel to Florida, going on cruises, playing cards, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Michael will always be remembered by his grandchildren as “Buppa.”

He is survived by his “gorgeous” wife, Terry; three children, Michele (Brian Kollmann) Bogenschneider, Kevin (Sally Morgan) Gross and Brad Theyerl; four grandchildren, Kyler Bogenschneider, Alexis Bogenschneider, Tyler Kollmann and Trenton Kollmann; great-grandchild, Kalie Bogenschneider; five siblings, Bob Gross, Tom (Chris) Gross, Ann (John) Renckens, Susan (Brian) Voelker and Margaret (John) Nejedlo; brother-in-law, Pat Bertram; three sisters-in-law, Sue (Dave) Reilly, Jane (Michael) Downer and Linda Hoffmann; two godchildren, Stewart Gross and Tess Heller; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Sally Williams; brother, Jeffrey Gross; sister, Amy Bertram; and sister-in-law, Mary Hoffmann.

The visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
