Michael L. Swanson

Michael L. Swanson, 44, of Oakfield, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. He was born on July 28, 1961 a son of Lee and Jacqueline (Greenawalt) Swanson in Madison, WI. Michael graduated from Middleton High School in 1979 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell College in 1983. He married Karen Meinholz at St. Peter's Church, Ashton, WI on May 18, 1985. Michael was an avid sportsman and was involved in many community organizations. He was a member of Sons of Zebedee - SS. James and John, Oakfield. Michael was the President of the Bank of Oakfield for the past 8 ½ years. He is survived by his wife, Karen; four children, Ben, Paul, Valerie and Dana all at home; his parents, Lee and Jacqueline Swanson, Cross Plains, WI; one sister, Karen (Randal) Mack, Dane, WI; his father and mother in law, Ronald and Helen Meinholz, Ashton, WI; three brothers-in-law, Randolph (Diane) Meinholz, Cross Plains, WI, Kenneth (Lisa) Meinholz, Ashton, WI, Alan (Suzi) Meinholz, Cross Plains, WI; four sisters-in-law, Lynn (Jeff) Lochner, Lori (Mark) Kuehn, Diane (Greg) Kalscheur, all of Cross Plains, WI, and Janet (Rod) Ballweg, Waunakee, WI. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives, his extended family at the Bank of Oakfield, and many friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Andy and his maternal and paternal grandparents.



VISITATION: Will be from 4:00 "“ 8:00 PM on Thursday, June, 29, 2006 at Sons of Zebedee "“ St. James Church, Oakfield and again from 9:30 AM until the time of service on Friday, June 30, 2006 at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 30, 2006 at the Oakfield Middle School Gymnasium, Oakfield with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating. Cremation will take place following the services. A memorial fund has been established in Michael's name at the Bank of Oakfield, P.O. Box 128, Oakfield, WI 53065.
