Michael "Mike" Guy Reinemann

October 7, 1954 — July 13, 2015

Michael was born October 7, 1954 and when asked where he was born, Mike would patently reply, "the Territory of Alaska, Elmendorf Air Force base.” And that he learned to walk before he could crawl because his first winter was such a cold one. On July 14, 2015, he found his peace and entered into eternal life, joining not only his Maker but his adored mother Joyce (Schumann) Reinemann who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his father, Glenn Reinemann, of Dousmann, WI, who was his "best man"; his brother, Mark (Debra) Reinemann, Waynesville, OH; his sister, Julie (Steve) Milligan, Green River, WY; and his brother, Carl (Pam) Reinemann, Jefferson, WI. He was in a loving relationship with his lifelong friend, Lori Baril, Fond du Lac, WI. At the time of his death, he had made his home with her and her sons, Travis and Isaiah, with whom he was especially close, and Lori's three grand-daughters; Bella, Lillian and Mazzy, who referred to him as "Papa Mike". Their house was well guarded and initiated into the world of life with dog hair by his dogs, Sky and Shadow, who had claimed Mike as their "Human of Choice."

His extended family includes his former wife; Debbie Reinemann, Manitowoc, WI; his step-son, Scott (Aimee) Willems, Mischicot, WI, and their two daughters; step-daughter, Shelley Willems Diedrick, Milwaukee, WI; former wife Judith Reinemann, Dousman, WI, and her dog, Jasper Newton Daniels (Jack Daniels for short), both of whom loved him dearly; aunts Joan Reinemann, Sheboygan, WI, Judy Vreeke, Sheboygan, WI, and Karen Reinemann, Mequon, WI; nephew, Scott (Christine) Reinemann and niece, Tiffany (John) Dewitt, all of Columbus, OH; nephew, Dan (Kendle) Milligan, Laremie, WY; nephew Tom Milligan, CO and nephew Airman Jacob Reinemann, AR. In addition, he is survived by a great-niece, two great-nephews and three god children. Mike embraced his role as step-father, father figure and uncle with love and acceptance. Mike's caring heart embraced almost all he knew as family. He will be greatly missed.

Mike spent most of his younger life living in Xenia, OH, and started his working life in the foundry where his father, Glenn, was Vice-President at Morris Bean & Company. He quickly determined foundry life was not for him, so at the age of 21, he moved to Oostburg, WI where he quickly became known as a "Jack of all Trades", literally, as steeple jacking was one of his acquired talents. Predictably, two of his last career positions included his father and his brother Carl who he trusted without question. Mike was a family man from beginning to end. At the time of his death, Mike was the sole owner of Reinemann Construction and was considered a master craftsman of cabinetry and millwork of all types and a respected builder and remodeler of homes.

In his free time, he could most often be found with a fishing pole in one hand and a cigar in the other. Fish feared him, or so he said. His favorite place in the world was Trout Lake, in Vilas County WI, where he enjoyed all outdoor sports, most often with family and friends. Of course, there were many solo trips with any one of his many canine companions. Mike was never without a dog; his record being a pack of five. He truly believed dogs were man's best friend. Although a seat in his boat will be empty here on earth, God will have the best fishing buddy anyone could hope for. Save some fish for us Mike.
