Michael Steven Moore

Michael Steven Moore, 73, of Rosendale entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Born in Fond du Lac on May 2, 1951, the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Saltzwadel) Moore. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac in 1969. He married Susan Marie Teichmiller on May 1, 1976, at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Fond du Lac. Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked as a switchman/brakeman for the Soo Line Railroad in North Fond du Lac for many years, and then worked as a Correctional Officer at Dodge Correctional Institute until his retirement. Michael was a family man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and his dog Astro. Over the years, he enjoyed camping, NASCAR, fishing, bowling, softball, playing cards, shooting pool with his Dad, and vacationing to Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his son, Christopher (Kelly Jo); his grandchildren, Nicholas (Amber) Duesterbeck, Gabriel (Megan) Moore, Abigail Moore, Matthew Moore; great-granddaughter, “Baby D”. He is further survived by his sisters, Cathy (Glenn) Gogin, Mary (Joe) Passalacqua; and sister-in-law Nancy Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Emily Susan; his brothers, James and Thomas Jr.; and his in-laws, Eugene and Helen Teichmiller.

Per Michael’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of life be held in his honor at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

The family would like to thank the staff at Faro’s Restaurant, the Fond du Lac EMT’s, and the staff at St. Agnes Hospital for their extraordinarily compassionate care that Michael received.
