Michael “Mike” R. LeFeber, 70, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born October 22, 1946 in Fond du Lac, the son of Edward and Nellie Schomish LeFeber. Mike graduated from New Holstein High School Class of 1965. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1965 – 1971. On October 25, 1969 he married Mary E. Michels in Chilton, WI. In his early years he worked for Badger Liquor and Fisher Stone and later purchased the stone company. He owned and operated LeFeber Stone Inc. until his retirement in 2014. Mike enjoyed gardening, taking care of his apple trees, tinkering on their hobby farm, cooking, baking, gambling, going out to eat, and was very involved in the stock market.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter Lisa LeFeber of Fond du Lac; one brother, Ed (Mary) LeFeber of Irving, TX; one sister, Karen (Dave) Schneiderhan of Malone; brother and sisters-in-law, John (Gladys) Michels of Chilton, Linda (Ken) Koffarnus of Green Lake, and Donna (Lyle) VanderWyst of English Lake, WI; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law, John and Marcella Michels.
The visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike’s name to a charity of your choice.
The family extends a special thank you to the Drs. and staff in St. Agnes ER and ICU, Dr. Robert Grass, Dr. Michael Jones, Lisa Michels APNP, and Chaplain Amy Golm for their care and compassion given to Mike and his family.
