Michele Renae Klessig of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away after an extended illness on November 14 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac at a far too young age of 51 years old.
She was born to David and Sheila Winstead at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital on February 27, 1972. Michele was an artist in life painting hundreds of beautiful pictures that depicted scenes that showed the beauty of nature. She was a devoted mother and wife as seen in her husband Chad, seven children, and four stepchildren who were all at her side continuously until her passing. Michele taught her children to love each other, love themselves, and see beauty in the world. She was a business owner of several makeup and beauty care shops and could create or cook anything to perfection.
Not only was Michele a lifelong hippy with a heart of gold, but she was also a devoted grandmother teaching her first granddaughter how to paint, play with clay, bake, and grow a garden. Michele could be seen holding her other two infant granddaughters smiling as they giggled.
She is preceded in death by her father, David Winstead of Round Lake, IL; her father-in-law, Hugo Klessig; her grandparents, Jack and Catherine Baker and Emmett and Rosa Winstead. Michele is survived by her immediate family, husband, Chad Klessig of Fond du Lac; seven children, Adam (Chantelle) Hill, Zachary (Monica) Mattern, Corey (Amber) Swim, Greyson (Kim) Swim, Cameron Collins, Destinee Collins, and Trinity (Zach) Collins; four stepchildren Dylan (Alli) Klessig, Dustyn (Liz) Klessig, Ashtyn Klessig, and Austyn Klessig. Michele has three granddaughters, Faylynn, Ophelia, and Alaina; and a grandbaby expected to arrive in January 2024. Michele is further survived by her mother, Shelia Winstead; brother, Kevin (Dana) Winstead; sister Kelly (Chuck) Anderson; mother-in-law, Patricia (Jerry) DeGrave; two sisters-in-law, Lucy Klessig and Samantha (Chris) Konitzer; and brother-in-law Hugo (Marsha) Klessig. She was a devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews that all will remember her fondly.
