Michelle J. Klein

Michelle J. Klein, age 52, of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 7, 1972, in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Donald and Jane (Gau) Kohnke. Shelly graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1990. On September 25, 1993, she married Stephen Klein at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Shelly loved spending time in her pool. She also loved the outdoors, especially boating, fishing, and sturgeon spearing. She was passionate about lighthouses and was an avid collector of anything with a lighthouse on it. 

Survivors include her husband, Stephen; her son, Matthew (Andrea Schmitz) Klein and one grandson on the way; her mother, Jane Kohnke; her brother, Mike (Tracy) Kohnke; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sue (Ken) Stephani, Sheryl (Ron) Preissner, Sandy Klein, Scott (Heather) Klein; her best friends, Amy Benish and Andy Puddy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Kohnke; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and LaDonna Klein.

Visitation will take place on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home at 6:00 PM. Cremation has taken place. 

In lieu of flowers, plants, or trees, memorials appreciated to the family.
