Mildred "Millie" L. Timmerman, 85, a resident of Woodlands Senior Park, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 after a long, hard fight with emphysema. She was born on October 25, 1922 in Soldier's Grove, WI. Formerly a tenant of Portland Square Apartments, Millie had many friends who loved her unique sense of humor and spunky attitude. In 1941, she won a city-wide "Miss Congeniality" award. She is admired by many for her tenacity and her adventurous nature. She traveled to all fifty states within her lifetime, but especially loved Alaska. During her working career, she was employed at Freeman Shoe Company in Beloit, WI, and Bell Laboratories in Aurora, IL. Always a free spirit, Millie co-owned and operated a popular tavern in Aurora.She is survived by her son Jack (Beth) Angel, Lady Lake, FL; her daughter, Valerie (Paul) Hunt, Fond du Lac, WI; five grandchildren, Jay Angel and special friend Beth, Peru, IL, Brett (Ann) Hunt, Malone, WI, Heather (Kevin) Joyce, St. Louis, MO, Courtney Hunt and special friend Michael, Saukville, WI, Tiffany Hunt and special friend Victor, Sheboygan, WI; five great-grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew Angel, Ethan and Nolan Joyce, and Adison Hunt Rands. Preceding Millie in death were her parents, husband, one brother and her beloved pet, Snowflake.
VISITATION: Friends may call on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 4 to 8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Robert Rosenberg officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services.In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Woodlands Senior Park.
