Mildred M. Hauptli

Mildred M. Hauptli, 101, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Francis Nursing Home in Fond du Lac. She was born in Hustisford, WI on January 10, 1917 to Ernst and Mathilda (Radtke) Neuenschwander. On April 11, 1948, Mildred married Chester Hauptli in Hustisford. He preceded her in death in October of 1981.



It was in Hustisford that Mildred began her love for cooking, canning and gardening, which she developed and continued throughout her life, with perfection. Her family and friends enjoyed the fruits of these passionate loves of Mildred’s. She extended these gifts to her faith community by cooking for the students at Winnebago Lutheran Academy (WLA) and for the Ladies Aide group at Faith Lutheran Church. Mildred was a long-standing member of Faith throughout her years in Fond du Lac.



Mildred was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there for her family at every moment.



Left to honor and remember her love are Mildred’s two sons, David (Wendy) Hauptli and James (Ann) Hauptli; her five grandchildren, Dustin Hauptli, Alex Hauptli, Jason (Tonya) Hauptli, Katherine (David) Talbot and Michael (Allie) Hauptli; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester; an infant great-granddaughter, Martha Talbot; and her brother, Herb Neuenschwander.



Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 55 Prairie Rd. in Fond du Lac. A funeral service will follow at the church, beginning at 12:00 PM. Entombment will take place in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.
