Nancy A. Budjac

August 3, 1922 — June 4, 2016

Nancy A. Budjac, 93, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Manor Care Nursing Home. She was born August 3, 1922 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Charles and Catherine Knicklebein. On November 7, 1942 she married Edward C. Budjac in Milwaukee. After Ed’s military service, they moved to Crystal Lake, WI and raised five young children. Ed’s trade brought them to Fond du Lac where they included a grandson in the family.

Nan worked as a clerk at SS Kresges and was a supervisor in the Prange Way toy department, where she was a constant source of bargain toys for her grandchildren. Nan enjoyed visits from sister and nieces for nickel canasta games that lasted for hours. She enjoyed crocheting and there was always a closet full of baby clothes and afghans to “gift”.

She was an avid bowler acquiring many 600 pins and served on numerous positions in various bowling and golf leagues including the Elks Club. She loved golf and Nan and “Etts” were often seen scurrying around in their own little blue golf cart at Whispering Springs. In later years she played bingo and slots at the casinos always carrying a purse full of “charms” and trolls for good luck.

Nan loved her family but most of all she loved life. Her failing body could not keep up with her sharp mind. She had her own way of doing things and became quite feisty if you tried to help or interfere. For the last seven years, she talked to “Etts” in heaven, asking him why he left her behind. Nan you got your wish.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; her daughter, Donna Mayer and her many siblings.

She is survived by her children, Cheryn (Robert “Fish”) Fishelson of Fond du Lac, John Budjac of Fond du Lac, Kathi Sabel of Steamboat Springs, and Bob (Sue) Budjac of Nekoosa. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Private family services were held at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Burial took place in Rienzi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Nancy asked that any memorials be directed to her family so they can purchase a memorial in the garden at Manor Care in her memory.
