Mrs. Naomi M. Grisa, 88, formerly of N7180 County Trunk UU, died at ManorCare Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past five months. She was born November 18, 1916, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Arthur W. and Rose Chartrey Thomas. She was married to William Ditter on December 2, 1978. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1983. She later married Henry Grisa. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2003. Mrs. Grisa was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Patrick's Church. She formerly owned and operated Naomi's Home Bakery across from St. Charles Cemetery. Much of her bakery was sold at flea markets around the state. She was well known for her sour dough and beer breads and German cookies. Naomi enjoyed cooking for the Agnesian Nuns and preparing bakery for Father Carr's Place To B. She was a member of Eagles Aerie #270 Auxiliary.Surviving is a son, James (Eileen) Stuart of Hernando, FL, three grandchildren, Joann (Steve) Cowart of San Jose, CA, and James (Melody) Stuart Jr., of Sunnyvale, CA, and Michael (Julie) Stuart of Hawthorne, NJ, two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Jason Cowart, three brothers, Jerry (Laura) Thomas and Charles (Irene) Thomas, all of Fond du Lac, and Aaron (Dorothy) Thomas of Superior, WI, and one sister, Alvina Hermann of Fond du Lac. Her parents, both husbands, a brother, Ward Thomas, and a sister, Athelene Leidolf preceded her in death.
Visitation for Mrs. Naomi M. Grisa will be on Friday, June 17, 2005, from 4 to 7:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 9 am at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Edward Sippel will officiate and burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
